This was our first visit here - busy Friday night. You have to make a reservation obviously but it's so worth it! Great, friendly service. Excellent wine list and all the Italian comfort foods you could want! Old school interior and loud (in a good way)!

I was visiting a friend and we did DoorDash order in. She loves this place! We started with a large Caesar salad to split. the yogurt Caesar dressing was good. I got the bolognese with pomodoro sauce. It was good. I wish the pasta was cooked just a little more - it was al dente but the pasta was stuck to each other and not enough sauce. It did taste good regardless. We also got a chocolate cake slice!! It was sooooo good. It was not overly rich or sweet. It was perfect!

We throughly enjoyed our food at Mama Ricottas for our birthday. We had the appetizer the Short Rib Arachini that had rice and this very delicious sauce over it! I had the chicken Parmesan that came with a large portion. My friend had the lasagna that was extra hot. Our waitress was AWESOME! And she took extra care of us. The ambiance is cold so bring a jacket but it's laid back and very welcoming! I also had a berry mocktail which I throughly enjoyed!

Came for my birthday. Wish I remembered the server's name because she was the best server I've had my entire life. Really great food, but the 5 stars is because of everything combined.

One of my favorite places in CLT. The management always makes us feel so welcome & our servers never fail to be so considerate. Some of the best Italian food you can get in the city. Get the vodka pasta!

Food - amazing! Out of this world. Very good portions and flavorful. Service - really great! Waitress and hostess were superb. Came here for a birthday and even got a free dessert to come at the end of the night. Ambiance - quiet, elegant, peaceful. Really enjoyed my meal. I'd definitely come back here.

I have dreams about Mama Ricotta's penne alla vodka. The family sized portion is perfect for sharing, and I love that it has a bit of spiciness to it. The bread served at the beginning of the meal was deliciously herby and fluffy. Servers are kind and helpful, and the atmosphere feels clean and upscale.

Cheesecake was the best I've ever had, I wish I saved room for the whole piece. It was light but had a solid texture. I would give it a 5 star but only food eaten in Italy is worth a 5 star respectfully. Highly recommend the pasta and lasagna.

Yes. Yes. And yes. Growing up in south Philly and NJ, this is about as close as you can get to the real deal (and little mamas), and it takes me back home every time. Their pasta primavera is my go-to - switching between Alfredo and oil/garlic (I can't do red sauce) and it is consistently amazing! It is loaded with veggies, and you can customize, which is even better. The kids portions are huge, and they come with a side. No kid is happier then when they can get pasta and fries (well, there are probably other happier moments). Don't sleep on the fries here either - they're delish! Crispy, seasoned. Everything that keeps you back for the "one more fry". All of their portions are easily save-able for lunch the next day - if you have that control. Everything about this Charlotte staple is delicious and you can't go w I want to go to Mama ricottas again now!

I visited Charlotte overnight recently and had the opportunity to take a walk In the much needed sunshine and warm air. I searched Yelp for places and decided to try Mama Ricotta's based on the stellar reviews. The hostess greeted me and sat me in Tom's section for lunch. Tom was attentive, kind and engaging. I settled on the chopped salad and my all time favorite toppings of mushrooms, onions, and pepperoni on the fire roasted pizzas they have. The food arrived promptly and it was excellent. Highly recommend a visit to this locally owned Italian eatery!
